The designation
What is a Blue Pebble Certified™ Homeownership Advocate?
A Blue Pebble Certified™ Homeownership Advocate is a real estate agent who has completed our training and signed a public pledge to negotiate a buyer’s full cost of homeownership — the mortgage included, not just the sale price. Any agent, from any brokerage, can earn the designation through the open Homeownership Advocate program. It is a credential you earn, not a company you join.
Four commitments behind the letters
Finding it, financing it, protecting it, and keeping it. Most negotiation stops at the sale price; an advocate is trained to work the whole cost of ownership — rate, points, fees, buydowns, insurance, and what comes after closing.
Every advocate signs the Homeownership Advocate Pledge: a published commitment to put the buyer’s total cost first, disclose how they are paid, and never steer a client toward a lender for their own benefit.
Advocates can connect clients with loan officers who are not commission-driven, so nobody quoting a rate has a personal stake in a bigger loan. Clients are always free to use any lender they choose.
The designation is not a recruiting funnel. Agents keep their brokerage and their split, and their clients get the same preferred pricing our own agents’ clients get. Nothing about it is conditioned on joining anything, and no leads are allocated through it — ever.
Why we opened it up.
Blue Pebble could have kept this in-house as a selling point. But the industry-wide problem is structural — buyers lose money wherever the person quoting their rate profits from a higher one — and a fix that only works inside one brokerage is not a fix. So the training, the pledge, and the preferred pricing are open to any agent willing to put their name on the standard. The mission is bigger than our roster.
Read the pledge itself
Every advocate signs the Homeownership Advocate Pledge — the written standard behind the designation. It is public on purpose: a promise you cannot read is not a promise.

Do I have to leave my agent to work with a Blue Pebble Certified Homeownership Advocate?
No. The designation is something your current agent can earn while staying exactly where they are. If you like your agent, the best move is to ask them to look into it — the training and the pledge travel with the agent, not with a brokerage.
Does a designated agent have to work at Blue Pebble?
No. The platform is open to agents from any brokerage. They keep their brokerage and their commission split. Blue Pebble agents and outside advocates hand their clients the same pricing.
What does it cost me as a buyer?
Nothing. The designation is the agent’s credential, and a buyer never pays to work with an advocate. The point of the program is to lower what you pay, starting with the monthly payment.
Why does the mortgage side matter so much?
Because at most lenders the person quoting your rate earns a commission that grows with what you pay. Advocates are trained to negotiate that side too, and have access to loan officers who are not commission-driven. You always remain free to finance anywhere you like.
How do I verify that an agent holds the designation?
Look them up. Every advocate in good standing carries the Blue Pebble Certified™ badge in our public directory at /our-people — if the badge is not there, the designation is not current. They can also show you their signed Homeownership Advocate Pledge.
